Mom Hack: Getting the School Year on the Right Foot with Snacks

The school year is here, and with it comes busy mornings, after-school activities, and endless “Mom, I’m hungry!” moments. One of the best ways I’ve found to keep things running smoothly is by setting up a snack system that my kids can manage (with a little help).

Instead of scrambling each day, we’ve built a routine of refilling snack bins a few times a week — and sometimes, I even add it to the kids’ chore chart so they can help out. Not only does this save me time, but it also gives them independence and responsibility.

Afternoon pick-up often means rushing to practice, art class, or dance. To avoid cranky, hungry kids in the car, we keep a small snack pouch in each vehicle. It’s stocked and ready to grab so we’re never caught without a quick bite. we have one of these in each car with snacks and keep this Snack pouch full of snacks
